We Get The nurse to the Patient faster than anyone

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 19 -- Intego™ Systems, Inc., the leading provider of integrated communications, data, and tracking systems for the health care industry, announces a partnership with Shands Jacksonville to conduct a Nurse Call Outcome Study. The hospital will test Intego™'s new nursing-call ProNet.Net management software. The results of the study and subsequent final development of the nursing station software will help reduce hospital costs, increase the nursing unit's flexibility, and improve the patient's overall hospital health care experience.

The three-month beta test is being conducted in a live environment at Shands Jacksonville on the new orthopedic and neurology units, with planned rollouts in additional units hospital-wide. Shands Jacksonville chose to partner with Intego™ due to their reputation as industry innovators, and also in support of the hospital's mission to (in part) provide excellent nursing care and customer service, and improve performance through nursing research, research utilization, and evidence-based practice.

According to Valerie Platt, Clinical Director of Cardiology, Neurology and Orthopedics at Shands Jacksonville, "We have been extremely impressed with the new software and flexibility it brings to our departments. It allows our nursing staff more time to better manage our assets while still providing the professional quality care our patients expect."

Intego™ continually gathers feedback from Shands Jacksonville and integrates these responses into the development process. According to Intego™ founder and President Charles E. Bell, Intego™ developed the ProNet.Net software to complement a hospital's dynamic organizational needs. "As treatments become more sophisticated, and hospitals strive to reduce costs, our ProNet.Net platform helps streamline the nurses' workload for more efficient and cost-effective Nursing Outcomes."

The new Windows.net-based platform is easier to deploy and maintain, making it seamless for hospital information technology personnel to manage. Work flows, including patient requests, staff assignments, unit management, and reports, are analyzed and modified. As a unit's needs change, the software can be customized to help hospital administration alleviate a staffing crunch.

"By partnering with a health care leader such as Shands Jacksonville, we are continually troubleshooting and improving. We are receiving real world insight from the front lines of healing - hospital floor nurses," explains Bell. "This software, when fully implemented at a site, will become the core of the most comprehensive patient-oriented communications available on today's market."

Says Greg Miller, Vice President of Clinical Services of Shands Jacksonville, "By actively participating in Intego™'s nurse-station management software development, we can outfit Shands Jacksonville's nurses and staff with the state-of-the-art tools needed to do our most important work - quickly and efficiently responding to our patients' needs."
